Real Food

Real, good food is my first passion.  I believe in real food.  Food that walks, swims, flies, or turns to the light–and is as close to its (edible) living form as possible.  I don’t believe in eating “food-like substances,” as Michael Pollan refers to them in his In Defense of Food.  I eat this way for my health and feel very strongly that certain individuals whose health isn’t optimal would benefit from exploring diet.

Real food is my hobby.  I like to cook, which is why I’ve linked to some recipes; and I love knowing how the foods we eat effect our biochemistry, which is why I’ve got a page started on ingredients.

Maybe someday I’ll figure out how to combine my two passions: food and business.  I don’t know what my future looks like–but as Simon Sinek says in his TED Talk, your why is far more important than your what.  Know what you believe and find people to work with who believe in what you believe, and the rest will follow.  Jim Collins addresses the same concept in Built to Last.  What you stand for and really believe in is far more important than the end product.
