Real, good food is my first passion. I believe in real food. Food that walks, swims, flies, or turns to the light–and is as close to its (edible) living form as possible. I don’t believe in eating “food-like substances,” as Michael Pollan refers to them in his In Defense of Food. I eat this way for my health and feel very strongly that anyone whose health is not optimal would benefit from exploring changes in diet.
At the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, I’m actively working on figuring out how to combine my two passions: food and business. Because I believe that the changes that are required of our food system in order to feed our world’s growing population food with adequate nutrition will most likely not occur within existing institutions, I’m focusing on entrepreneurship and seed/venture capital.
